Tyler Cavanaugh scored a career-high 20 points and helped Wake Forest pull away to upset No. 4 Duke, 82-72, on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Travis McKie added 19 points in his final scheduled home game for the Demon Deacons (16-14, 6-11 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Coming off a home loss to sub-.500 Boston College, they shot 46 percent from the field and overcame their largest deficit of the game by scoring 17 straight points and holding Duke without a field goal for five critical minutes down the stretch.

Codi Miller-McIntyre had 13 points to help Wake Forest claim its first win over Duke since 2009 and its biggest win since an upset of No. 2 Miami in February 2013.

Jabari Parker scored 19 points and Rodney Hood added 16 for the Blue Devils (23-7, 12-5).

Black, a senior transfer from Memphis, finished 9 for 9 from the field, matching the school record for field goal attempts without a miss held by C.J. Giles (2005) and Mark Randall (1990).

Freshman forward Andrew Wiggins, also likely playing in his final home game, added nine points for the Jayhawks (23-7, 14-3 Big 12).

Smith hit three straight threes right after his alley-oop pass on the go-ahead dunk by Montrezl Harrell midway through the second half for American Athletic Conference-leading and defending national champion Louisville (25-5, 14-3).

The Mustangs fell to 23-7, 12-5.

DAYTON 72, SAINT LOUIS 67: Jalen Robinson scored all 10 of his points in the second half, including two key three-pointers in the put-away run, helping the Flyers (21-9, 9-6 Atlantic 10) upset the 17th-ranked Billikens (25-5, 12-3) in St. Louis.

CONNECTICUT 69, RUTGERS 63: Shabazz Napier scored 26 points in his final home game, leading the 19th-ranked Huskies to a win over the Scarlet Knights in Storrs, Conn.

The senior guard made a career-high seven three-pointers and hit eight of his 13 shots from the floor.

Niels Giffey added a career-high 16 points for Connecticut (24-6, 12-5 AAC), which has won three in a row and seven of its past eight games.

NEW MEXICO 80, AIR FORCE 52: Seniors Cameron Bairstow and Kendall Williams put on a show in their final home game for the No. 21 Lobos, combining for 34 points in a win over the Falcons in Albuquerque.

Bairstow finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, and Williams had 13 points for New Mexico (24-5, 15-2 Mountain West). Air Force fell to 11-17, 5-12.

OKLAHOMA 72, WEST VIRGINIA 62: Cameron Clark had 19 points and 10 rebounds in his final home game to help the 23rd-ranked Sooners (22-8, 11-6 Big 12) defeat the Mountaineers in Norman, Okla.

Juwan Staten scored 23 points for West Virginia (16-14, 8-9).

Cavaliers women advance

Ataira Franklin (Riverdale Baptist) scored 23 points, and Virginia beat Boston College, 74-59, in the first round of the ACC women’s tournament in Greensboro, N.C.

Sarah Imovbioh added 14 points for the 10th-seeded Cavaliers (13-16) — who had never been seeded that low at the league tournament. Virginia will face seventh-seeded Georgia Tech on Thursday.
